What is microdermabrasion?
The process of cell renewal is a natural process that slows as we age. Uniform removal of superficial dead cells stimulates the production of new skin cells. In microdermabrasion, aluminum oxide crystals are projected onto the skin to exfoliate layers of the epidermis. These crystals, along with dead skin cells, are vacuumed up and discarded. Microdermabrasion leaves your skin smooth and clean with temporary, mild redness. Blackheads are loosened, whiteheads become unsurfaced, hyperpigmentation lightens, acne scars, enlarged pores and epidermal wrinkles become less prominent. Blood, carrying oxygen and nutrients, is drawn to the surface to feed and repair cells. The goal of microdermabrasion is the removal of surface dead cells from the skin, bringing forward plump, fresh, healthy cells.
We carry the Vivite skin care line with advanced GLX technology and sun protection products, to help prepare and soothe the skin before and after microdermabrasion. A proper skin care program should also be followed for long lasting improvement in the skin. Your skin care products can be more effective because they can reach the fresh cells uncovered by the peels. Results can be achieved with very little downtime.
